If You Are Unable To Drive Do To Epilespy How Does This Make You Feel
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Sometimes you just want to be able to go out and do things on tour own with out having to ask somwone for a ride.
Is it frustration that you can't drive or do you not mind it?
To me it can be very frustrating. There is no transportation system in my town so I am so dependent in my family to take me where I need to go. Not all the time do they want to go where I want to go Nor do they have the time.

When i was young i was always mad i couldn't grab keys and run to the store like everyone else. Now that my neighborhood has public transportation & uber it doesn't bother me so much anymore.

i live without any buses or anything and i relay on my family to get anywhere. i really do not mind it because almost all the shopping is done online or i will get a list and the family and i will 'stock up' on food. as for a ride to work, i have a family member thats i relay on.

not being able to drive is the worst feeling in the world for me. I am the only one in my family and it is really hard having to rely on them to take me places or else i feel stranded. my dad even made a lyft account for me, but i get uncomfortable taking one by myself. honestly i am just so happy i am not alone on this.

It’s a huge frustration when you aren’t able to drive. You feel like a burden to others but you’re just trying to survive. Where I live, there is no public transportation or taxis, and my relatives live 45 minutes away. Thank goodness I can drive at the moment b/c there would be no way I could manage daily living without it...I’d be unemployed as well.
