For the past few months, I have experienced a case of tinnitus, or ringing in the ears. Although it is not actually a ringing. More like the static you hear when your television goes out. Sometimes it interferes with my hearing or listening. At night it drives me crazy.

Comes with age. It's hearing loss. When everything is turned off in the house or car there is this static noise (or hum). Hearing aids overcome this but they ain't cheap.
