I felt like my memory turned horrible almost overnight roughly 6 months ago. Scares me, depresses me, frustrates me and really embarrasses me but I will not give up.

Yes we all struggle with our memories, one way or another. Plus it's not just our meds . It's also the seizure itself, from our seizures.

My memory loss is awful. My Neurologist at Rush in Chicago, told me it was a combo of my medication (5000 mg a day) and some due to the scar tissue/damage from the viral encephalitis I faced in '90 that left me with Epilepsy. Over the years I truly have just come to accept it. I think, at times, it is just as frustrating for my husband and family because as time goes, I forget. There are times I am so embarrassed that I find myself lying that I remember something and I don't and I hate doing that but after you've said "I don't remember a handful of times to your husband in one day it gets old. You are not alone!! 🌸

Yes. The memory loss is very frustrating. I'm not sure how much of it is from the meds, or from tissue damage on the brain. My Nuro says a large majority is likely due to permanent damage from years of untreated seizures. However, I can tell a big difference since I've begun the medication. I am supposed to start cognitive therapy to help with coping strategies, and learning how to organize my life to aid quality of my days.
