Is stress the cause of absence, Tonic-Clonic & nocturnal seizures in Porphyria Variegata?

Hi there. I can't answer all your question but I started having absence seizures when I increased my coffee intake. I was told by a health professional that caffeine can lower your seizure free threshold - a term I had never heard before. Coffee certainly affects me and my epilepsy is otherwise stable. I'd be interest to know if anyone has had a similar issue. I work in a fast paced stressful environment and usually have a high stress tolerance but the other day I had a weird optical shift when the room felt like it moved sided ways. I'm not sure what happened or whether it's related to my epilepsy but I was really stressed at the time. J
