Hi I'm wondering if anyone out there is dealing with the same situation as me and if you know where I can go for help as specialist only seems to be interested in management of the seizures, my son is 8 and he's on sodium vaporate it's a good medication for him and he's seizure free with it he has had an odd breakthrough seizure but normally fine but he has behavioural issues now it's not all the time they come in spells like he can be fine well behaved for months then over a few weeks I see… read more

Yes my daughter has behavioral issues since her epilepsy started but were mild and sodium valporate has made it worse alot of aggressive behaviour etc etc. When her behaviour is really bad for a few days running this is warning sign something is going to kick off with her epilepsy.

Have you ever heard of an aura? It's a warning seizure before a big one comes. I have them and find that my meds don't control the aura like it does the big seizure. I just looked up what aura's can be like for some and they can cause hallucinations. I was find another neurologist and speak with them about auras and the side effects of the meds. If it were me, I would ask to change mmeds or add another to see if it changes anything. So sorry you and your boy go through this. Hope it gets better soon

I may not be able to help you find an Epileptologist, but from what I read upon the side effects , it mentions about aggressiveness and behavioral disturbance.
