How do you know if you have just had a seizure? How do you know if you have memory loss, not like you can remember?
I got to a point having Partial Complex Seizures that after one I would come back "Lost in Space"! Totally wiped out memory wise for a period of time after having one, so I knew I had one. it would last for anywhere up to 30+ minutes before I was myself again. I was at a point in my life where they were ruling my existence as I had no warning before one would occur. I did get lucky after meeting the right neurologist finally, getting proper study leading me to brain surgery. I am now 4 yrs seizure free after a left frontal lobectomy. I do my best to help and support other people. One must do there best to keep records, write down when one occurs and get good testing to seek options to control the seizures. Surgery, VNS or RNS devices, special diets, ways are out there to get support. Never allow them to just throw drugs at you.
The partial complex seizures are destroying me! I'm a blackjack dealer in Las Vegas. Every once-in-a-while, I'll just wander away from my table, lost and feeling as though I'm dreaming or caught in a nightmare. All that's been done, so far is... DRUGS! Dilantin is the only one that helps because without it, I have tonic-clonic seizures. Lamictal, Topamax, vimpat, Keppra, depakote, tegratol, low dose, high dose... Nothing slows the seizures down. They slow ME down- it drives my wife crazy when I doze off at 9:00 at night and we can't watch a movie. Then I spend the next two hours defending myself, reminding her of all the meds I have to take. And don't get me started on how it's affected my libido or how that's affected our relationship... So the doctor has finally determined that I've failed enough meds and we're starting the path to surgery, but my wife is terrified. I'm a little scared, too. I wish my doctor would open up to the idea of CBD. A friend picked up two bottles for me, but I have no idea as to the correct dosage or how to go about titration. Any suggestions?
I wake up some ware confused, tired, in a daze
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member sounds like the postictal phase after a seizure. My migraines after seizures make me feel like I will vomit. It never fails after a seizure be it grand mal or petite mal.
I'm extremely tired and massive headache
