I Feel Sudden Electric-shock Like Sensations, Intolerable Pain, Buzzing, Moving Across Shoulders, Neck & Down Spine??

I Feel Sudden Electric-shock Like Sensations, Intolerable Pain, Buzzing, Moving Across Shoulders, Neck & Down Spine??

Is it part of my parietal lobe seizures? Maybe focal aware? I have focal unaware mostly (complex partials), also simple focal aware (auras) of rt temporal parietal lobes, and sometimes bilateral to left side temporal parietal lobes also. Anyone ever experience this type of sensation or is it something else??

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member said:

All info & opinions about these are welcome because this is the one “seizure” or issue I’m struggling with most. Usually I’m ‘not home’ w/ focal unaware (complex partials they used to be called).

Temporal Lob Epilepsy With Complex

Temporal Lob Epilepsy With Complex

1. What manifestations of temporal lobe seizures have you experienced?

2.What absence seizures have you experienced (other than the typical ones like lips smacking, etc)?

When I'm asking these questions, obviously we don't know ourselves and so we depend on others to record them. So what have they said they observed?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member said:

I was diagnosed with temporal lobe epilepsy, the most common type, and was told that I had complex partial seizures. My neurologist would ask my husband if I smacked my lips and if I showed certain… read more

Does Anybody Regret Having Their Surgery?

Does Anybody Regret Having Their Surgery?

I'm considering having an operation to remove a temporal lobe lesion. I'm told there's a risk that it could handicap speech or language, and it doesn't always remove all seizures (if any at all). Did surgery cause you any kind of problem that makes you regret surgery?

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member said:

No I have not regretted having mine. It's been almost two and a half years since my last one. From my experience, it hurts quite a bit for the first couple of days. It also depends to on what… read more

I Have Right Temporal Lobe Epilepsy And I'm Currently On Vimpat. Anybody Out There Have Vivid Or Weird Dreams?

I have right temporal lobe (lesions on the right side)epilepsy and I'm currently on Vimpat. Anybody out there have vivid or weird dreams? Some of mine are extremely life like and some are weird enough that I probably would tell them to anybody. Some of them stick in my memory even when I wish they wouldn't.

What Are Partial Seizures An Temporal Lobe Seizure?

What Are Partial Seizures An Temporal Lobe Seizure?

Honestly my neurologists tells me that partial seizures an temporal seizures are stress related seizures not epilepsy. But at the hospital Last night the doctor told me they are epilepsy seizures. I'm confused does any one know anything about this.

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member said:

Yes, get other opinions. It took 6 months to get my diagnosis after I lost consciousness while driving. Since the doctors (to include neurologists) weren’t up on/aware of differing types of… read more
