Does Anyone Else Experience Dissociation? Specifically Derealization And Depersonalization?

Does Anyone Else Experience Dissociation? Specifically Derealization And Depersonalization?

Not necessarily an epilepsy question but could relate to epilepsy and I'm sure others with epilepsy may experience it. I just want to get others' experiences with dissociation. I started experiencing dissociation after a traumatic event and it's a little scary to say the least

Sabril/Potiga/Banzel

Sabril/Potiga/Banzel

Hey everyone :)

I was just wondering if anyone has tried
or is on any of the meds above. ?
My past dr (and the one I have now) won't let me try them,
mainly because of the risk of vision loss.
I'm kinda curious and wondering if that has really happened ?
Or were there other effects besides the vision?

Thanks !

I've been on two out of the three that you show about . I've been on Banzel and Potiga. Banzel never gave me bad side effects , but didn't have the best control on my seizures. Potiga was a strange… read more

I have both the VNS & RNS they reduce the strength of thee seizures. My seizures last about 3-5 mins now. Pending on how much meds you’re on, is what you need to think about. Good Luck!!

Has Anyone Come Off Keppra (Levetiracetam)?

Has Anyone Come Off Keppra (Levetiracetam)?

I’ve been on it a few weeks and hate the side effects so starting to come off it tonight (under guidance by my neurologist obviously).
I had very intense withdrawals from trying to get off Tegratol so hopeful this won’t be as bad. Please share your experiences

I have . You might get some headaches and some severe sleepiness ( like a hangover feeling) and your mood might be cranky but other than that you should be fine

Has Anyone Had Brain Surgery To Correct Their Seizures? Im Scared And Would Love To Hear Your Stories And Get Any Advice I Can

Has Anyone Had Brain Surgery To Correct Their Seizures? Im Scared And Would Love To Hear Your Stories And Get Any Advice I Can

I've got complex partial seizures with identified abnormality in my temporal lobe. Seizures are focal so my neurologist said surgery is an option I should consider, but I'm pretty scared and not sure it is worth it. My seizures aren't very bad and I could still lead a mostly-normal life but I plan to become a doctor and with sleep deprivation being a major trigger for me it may prevent me from pursuing my desire to work in a hospital (which means long hours). Im not sure about the process of… read more

Is There Anyone On Tegretol Who Has Also Been Vaccinated Covid-19

Is There Anyone On Tegretol Who Has Also Been Vaccinated Covid-19

Due to many controversial criticism etc. against the Covid-19 vaccination for people with epilepsy, I did not get the vaccination. But due to work requirements, I am strongly considering getting a vaccination
I take Tegretol (600mg / day). But as I have read, that some older antiepileptic medications can 'collide' with Covid vaccinations, especially with Tegretol. Due to the way both, the vaccination and how Tegretol work in the body, it is possible that getting a Covid jab can induce long… read more
