Has anyone had a temporal lobectomy, if so how soon were you able to wean off your meds and how was the process. My dr told me 2 years seizure free. My surgery was in July of last year so I've still got almost a year, but I'm having a lot of trouble with pharmacies and feel like it would be better to wean off early than to potentially go without them all of the sudden. I would like some opinions on this.
I've always thought it was strange that none of the doctors I've seen have said i can't drive anymore. Curious if anyone else still has a valid license and drives daily?!

Due to many controversial criticism etc. against the Covid-19 vaccination for people with epilepsy, I did not get the vaccination. But due to work requirements, I am strongly considering getting a vaccination
I take Tegretol (600mg / day). But as I have read, that some older antiepileptic medications can 'collide' with Covid vaccinations, especially with Tegretol. Due to the way both, the vaccination and how Tegretol work in the body, it is possible that getting a Covid jab can induce long… read more
I've got complex partial seizures with identified abnormality in my temporal lobe. Seizures are focal so my neurologist said surgery is an option I should consider, but I'm pretty scared and not sure it is worth it. My seizures aren't very bad and I could still lead a mostly-normal life but I plan to become a doctor and with sleep deprivation being a major trigger for me it may prevent me from pursuing my desire to work in a hospital (which means long hours). Im not sure about the process of… read more
My seizures started at 52. I have no idea why, other than that it was a very stressful time. It was also when my perimenopause kicked more into high gear. I'm trying to figure out what side effects are from my meds and what is from hormones. I started HRT last month. I do have more energy, but get stressed easily. I haven't had headaches in a long time and now they are back. I'm just not sure which is worse; HRT or no HRT but epilepsy side effects. I do know that HRT can interfere with… read more
