@Topamax vs Quidexy XL anyone have their child on either of these? Is losing hair a side effect and is this drug a better option for energy during the school day?
Thanks
Just following up. My daughter might switch from Topamax to quedexy XR I know it’s been a year but any thoughts on energy levels with one vs the other? Thanks

I have been on Lamictal since July of last year. After we got to the dosage my doctor wanted, we found that my level runs on the low side. It still is in the therapeutic range but some days it dips low from being off by an hour when I take it and I start getting auras and absence seizures. The doctor gave me two options: take lamictal three times a day or switch to Lamictal XR. I thought there was only brand name lamictal XR so I opted for 3 times a day until I discovered lamotrigine ER a.k.a… read more
I was put on vimpat a few months ago
In the hopes of weaning off of topamax all together since topamax is not safe with pregnancy. Since starting vimpat I have been feeling extremely tired and just not like myself at all. It has not gotten rid of my seizures at night so my nuerologist wants to keep me on it a bit longer to see if it will kick in. Does anyone have experience with this medication and know how long it took to get rid of seizures/what dosage? Did the side effects get better?
Thanks

Since then we seen at least 1/2 dozen each saying that's the wrong meds try this try that. The area affected is around frontal lobe. She has absence, drop, gram mal. In my opinion they just keep changing patterns. The one medicine that has always seemed to help is lamictal. She's on700 mg of lamictal ( name brand ) kepra a low dose and now Trokendi xr samples 200 mg because our… read more

There isn't that many issues in Aus I'm not on it anymore but apparently carbamazepine is in shortage everywhere at the moment even over here.
Seems like multiple side effects come with every seizure medication, ugh! I would talk to your Dr. about this and any questions or concerns regarding your medications 💜.
