Yes. I had this issue for a few months. I started it then had a three month follow up. after that I was a lot better then I was but to get to the point I'm at now you're looking at 5 months minimum and that's if everything goes well.

Keppra will make you feel exhausted for a while. Then you wish you were exhausted to control the anger you start showing.

I have been taking Keppra since 2018 and the first few weeks it made me really tired. Now, my body has adjusted to it and I don't feel that tired feeling but it has continroled my seizure very well.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , In 2019 I took Keppra for about 3 months & it made me so tired that I had to take a nap every day & eventually I started having trouble sleeping at night & so I got off it. I never experienced the Keppra Rage. Each medication can affect everyone differently. If y’all feel your son has given the medication enough time & he’s not comfortable with it, let his doctor know. I know after I have a seizure, I’m usually very weak & tired. So, if your son is really tired after a seizure, that’s usually due to the seizure itself. Good luck. Welcome to the site. Take care. Yes, fatigue and drowsiness are very common side effects when starting Keppra (levetiracetam), especially in the early weeks. The body often needs time to adjust to a new medication.

Common side effects that can contribute to that "slow motion" feeling include:

- Drowsiness
- Fatigue and weakness
- Dizziness
- Irritability or mood changes
- Loss of appetite One MyEpilepsyTeam member described medication-related fatigue as feeling like running a marathon — muscles weak, everything hurts, and completely drained.

That said, if the exhaustion feels severe or is significantly affecting daily life, it's worth contacting his neurologist. There may be options to adjust the dose or timing. Never change or stop the medication without speaking to a doctor first — stopping Keppra suddenly can actually increase the risk of seizures.
