Members discussed how epilepsy symptoms and medications can trigger anger, frustration, and emotional reactions, with many noting that Keppra is a well-known culprit for irritability and behavioral changes. Several members shared personal strategies like pairing Keppra with Citalopram to manage anger, while others described the emotional toll of feeling unsupported by family, caregivers, and housing staff who dismiss their condition. A recurring theme was the importance of self-advocacy, whether by educating others about epilepsy, setting boundaries around conversations, or standing up against unfair treatment.

Some of the medications give you a very short temper. Of the 15 or 16 I've been on there were two which really did that to me. Also, if the med is making you overtired, most people become angry easily when overtired, not getting enough sleep.

I take Kepera and I feel fine I never get angry. I also take Topamax and Vitamin D. I also pray everyday and night to have Jesus Christ be with everyone and keep us all safe and healthy always and forever in our hearts and souls forever. Amen β€οΈπŸ‘πŸ»πŸ™πŸ».

There are certain medications that can cause anger, Keppra or Levetiracetam(another name it goes by) is a big one. If you are having anger issues or negative thoughts, talk to your neurologist right away. I take Citalopram to curb my anger issues and irritability while taking Keppra.

I’ve had temporal lobe epilepsy for 33 years that has given me suicidal thoughts along with the feelings that I’d rather have died at birth like doctors said was going to happen
