Members shared personal experiences in response to the question about whether being seizure-free for two years is stable enough to attend a large Muslim pilgrimage in a hot, humid environment. Several members noted that timelines vary, with some suggesting the brain may take closer to 5 to 10 years to fully recover, and that breakthrough seizures can happen even after long seizure-free periods due to stress, heat, or emotional triggers. A recurring theme was to continue medications, know your body's warning signs, and consult your doctor before making such a big decision.

Heres my thoughts from experience.

In document form, laws, policies or whatever, it can say whatever from who ever allows it to say by what ever group meeting caused the decision to write down what they think, feel, or think they know by allowing their education level to make such a desicion.

A piece of paper can say what it wants but from experience it never includes the full fine print.

Once you have a seizure, whether your medicated and its controlled or not and even if you havent had one in 5-10 years. (Again from my experience), If you've had one seizure, you can have another, regardless of treatment.

There's far too many factors that can come up out of nowhere.
I dont trust a piece of paper or anyone that hasn't ever had actual physical experience telling me I'm safe. This statement is coming from a recent event I'm dealing with and if I would have been seeing things like I am now I wouldnt be dealing with it.

Sorry to come off so negative.
I probably shouldn't even post this but I am, delete it if you dont wanna see it. No hard feelings.

Make every decision a good one.

Everyone is different … but changes in the weather , seasons , changes in the environment, and changes in climate , can possibly trigger our seizure.
But it’s possible that your of your body adapting to those changes too.

It all depends on your bodies chemistry
To those changes.

I'm pretty sure 1-2 years post seizure is still the stable phase once you start getting to 5-8 years that's when your out of risk.
