Members responded to a question about losing appetite and thirst signals since experiencing a gran mal seizure, with many sharing that they experience the same issues. Several members noted that both seizure activity in the brain and medications like Keppra, Gabapentin, and others are likely contributors, with one member pointing out that splitting medication doses helped reduce side effects. A recurring theme was the importance of staying on top of eating and drinking even without hunger or thirst cues, along with strong community encouragement and support for those navigating difficult seizure journeys.

Where ever the seizures are active, can cause us to lose our appetite, lose our taste , get angry , struggle talking with slurs and stuttering , lose of memory, and many other thing that the is controlled thru our brain.

Medications can do similar things with their side effects.

I never have an appetite either and we assume itโ€™s all of the medication I take that makes me never hungry. I had the VNS at one time and didnโ€™t see any changes in appetite with it.
