We're newly diagnosed and I can't always tell the difference between the actual seizure, and the recovery period, so the "seizure" feels like an eternity to me, but I'm not sure it's all seizure (in fact I have suspected it's more than one, with some recovery in between. But I just know enough yet.
Thanks
If your child is not alert are partially alert, ( is looking at you , talking maybe stuttering, slurring or trouble finding words ) , then he/she may still be seizuring. The brain starts losing oxygen..
If your kid seizures 4+ minutes , call for emergency.
But if your kid goes into a. Seizure, comes out and goes back into another seizures 2 plus more times, those are Cluster Seizure .
Thanks Randy
First of all, navigating a new epilepsy diagnosis for your child is a lot to take in — and what you're describing is incredibly common, especially in the early days. The good news is that timing seizures gets easier with practice, and your instincts about what you're observing really do matter.

You’re welcome Fiona
Out of 30+ years of epilepsy I only experience the seizures. As soon as I’m back aware from my seizures I’m back to normal and don’t even know I had a seizure. So I don’t even deal with recovery time.
