Might be a dumb question but yeah i remember me as a little 9 y/o drinking meds as i thought it was temporary as i got out the hospital. Then years passed of me getting angry about me having to drink them now 11 i would lie and say i had taken them then realizing that if i didn’t take them these seizures aint going away even taking them no im here 22 y/o making the best of it living life, it is what it is…
Good post and ?, I agree with the ai mentioned about and other people's opinions here, I think it's dif per person and I have had it at 6 and had it come to me, but wasn't sure what was happening to me, I found out after being diagnosed with at 7 in er, I finally accepted it at around 30 and got used to what was happening to me and have accepted it,it is more stable than before and they happen on occasion to me but I can handle it now than before, because at first I was dealing with the unknown now I have adjusted to the condition and what to expect from learning with and about over the years from,I thank from sites like this and from people who support me and medical system but am especially thankful for my daily routine of prayer and Bible study in my life with condition or not my opinion here amen
Since I was 4. idk. I was probably just in a better system or maybe I was told by someone at one point that its for life but either way I never thought it was temporary.
That is absolutely not a dumb question — it's one of the most human things about living with epilepsy. The journey from "this is temporary" to "this is my life and I own it" is something so many people with epilepsy go through, and getting there at 22 with that attitude? That's genuinely something to be proud of.
