Those are referred to as absence seizures. When I have mine my wife or kids will wait with me until I can answer basic questions. The actual seizure doesn’t last that long but the recovery process can take about 15-45 minutes.

I have Focal impaired awareness epilepsy, I can drift away for a few seconds, without knowing I have, the way I know is when a friend or family member, comments are you there or I was talking too, from a close family and friends , they did not understand at first , but slowly there have learned to see the signs, when I cannot. And explain something just happened but unsure what. Since a change in my medication, I do not drift away, has much, but start to tremor, which seems different, but other seems to see this changing within me. When this happens I take myself away to relax, it has been explained, it’s my temple lobe scaring which is breaking the signal from my brain to nerve system.Leading to stress and anxiety….which would trigger a seizure

This happened to me in a car. She was giving me a ride home from the hospital. I was touching her air vents and I didn't know why. I didn't realize what epilepsy was at the time. I didn't realize I had a sleeping disorder. I woke up and I was touching her vents. I said sorry and fell back asleep. That was an interesting memory.

It sounds like a scary situation but you probably have it beat because you have strong perseverance.

Ask your daughter if you did any type of movements; also ask her how you react if someone tries touching you. My wife is the only one that can physically touch me everyone else I try to punch. My doctor explained to me that it becomes a fight or flight situation
