Members offered caring and practical advice for a parent whose daughter is experiencing fatigue from an increased Keppra dose, with Vitamin B6 being the most frequently mentioned tip, since several members noted that Keppra can deplete B6 levels and cause side effects like aggression and tiredness. Many community members also suggested staying well-hydrated, maintaining a consistent routine, getting bloodwork to check for deficiencies like Vitamin D, and being patient as the body adjusts to medication changes. A recurring theme was emotional encouragement for both the daughter and parent, with members drawing from their own long-term experiences with anti-seizure medications to offer hope and solidarity.

Ai suggestions were correct. also be supportive no matter how she is feeling or acting especially as her medication is being increaed. it does take some time for her body to adjust to the increases of keppra. your doctor may add an additional med along with keppra which can help to control her seizures.
I went through this for many years but my seizures are very much after control. I only have on last year and I am back to myself before the seizures started. Yes, my anti seizure and high blood pressure meds cause me to feel tired but I still get done what I need to get done. I rest when I need to but t hen again your daughter is prehaps much younger than me. Hang in there 😁

John in my experience with anti epileptic drugs most of them will have the potential fatigue that may happen. I’ve been on keppra for over 20 yrs or so and told my neurologist about it as well and nothing was done. I will say most mornings it takes me awhile to get woken up as well.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member If you don't get enough water it lowers basically everything. B6 is meant to help reduce side effects better with the help of water but and its a big if. 1. Its still being studied to this day to see just how effective this is so its not 100 % proven 2. It doesn't work for everyone. So people have added B6 for Keppra and had no improvement.
