I’m sorry your doctors can’t figure out how you got epilepsy. My mom has told me that when I had my head injury doctors informed her that I could have seizures in the future so they weren’t so shocked when I had my first seizure but like I said, after further surgeries doctors revealed my birth asphyxiation was the bigger cause. Focal Onset Impaired Awareness are also Temporal Lobe Seizures which I have. I have had the Vagus Nerve Stimulator (VNS) and the Neurostimulator (RNS) but continue to have seizures. Temporal Lobe seizures took my memory away because the hippocampus is located in the temporal lobe, so the dead brain cells ruined my memory.
Yeah Sean and sorry for that.
Ok Everyone I just retired from nurse practitioner field. I have had every diagnostic known to mankind and nothing has been revealed to cause these seizures. I just obtained another wonderful neurologist in Las Vegas, Nevada from Las Vegas Neurology and spine Institute. They have now performed nine more diagnostics. I’m hoping to figure something out and report to this site but up until now for the past six years, there has been nothing indicating a cause for these focal seizures as they Are they now called. my question to the site. Has anyone else ever experienced this? Where they had all these diagnostics performed and yet no cause. That is my frustration. I’m willing to treat this because they are real and I want to stay safe but my craziness with this is why I want to know what is the pathology? Anyone out there that this describes I would appreciate to hear your story. Thank you everybody and your journey to health I hope is a good one.

I have had focal impaired awareness seizures for 30+ years. Doctors first believed they were caused by a traumatic head injury that knocked me unconscious. Now doctors say my seizures are caused more by a lack of oxygen at birth (HIE)
What causes focal impaired awareness seizures (formerly called complex partial seizures)?
Focal impaired awareness seizures are caused by abnormal electrical activity in a specific area of the brain. When the cause isn't identified, it's called "idiopathic," which affects about half of people with epilepsy.
