I have focal aware which knock me out for the rest of the day and sometimes a day after. I get really depressed afterwards and think of all the bad things happening in my life. Do others fall into depression after a seizure or several? I know in a day or 2 I will feel better and get back to my old self, but it is hard when going through it.

To get back to this, Last week was horrible with 3 days of seizures, headaches and physical exhaustion, and of course the depression I mentioned. This week I feel good, my mood is good, i am back to the gym and so far seizure free.. Thanks for the support, this group really helps me through. I hope I can pay it forward

2 things come to mind when you mention about depression after seizure.

1. You are truly depressed
2. Or it the after effect of your seizure(s) . Or you seizure is active around that emotion in your Brain.

Which one do you think you are?

My seizures were somewhat controlled so every time another one hit me, I could see I have to start all over again and that's depressing.

John, postictal for myself if I have a seizure alone at home will leave me depressed, anxiety and increase my already daily migraine. Now if I happen to have a seizure in public that's even worse and embarrassing to have EMT and extra people around. I wear a ID bracelet just in case I have a seizure in public.
No that You're not alone in this journey my friend.

Christina, feel for you. being mad is a reasonable emotional feeling. Levetiracetam twice daily 1,000mg after being seizure free for 8 years. Living with a daily migraine, no painkillers as opioids make my seizures worse. Hang in there you're not alone.
