Members opened up about experiencing seizures in public, sharing the mix of embarrassment, vulnerability, and eventually acceptance that comes with repeated episodes in grocery stores, workplaces, and other everyday settings. Several members described practical coping strategies, including tracking seizures in a phone to share with doctors, relying on trusted people who know not to call an ambulance unless necessary, and learning to brush off stares and simply keep going after an episode. A recurring theme was the kindness of strangers and coworkers who check in during or after a seizure, which many members deeply appreciated, though some also shared the painful reality of feeling judged or misunderstood by loved ones.

I’ve seizure many times in public . It was embarrassing for awhile . But because it happened often I gave up being embarrassed. Instead I was learning to get up, wipe myself off, while ignoring the staring eyes and and just go about my business .

It was alway a great feeling when a person would come by and check on me, while coming out of the seizure.

I've had them multiple times over the years. If TC it's normally a few minutes, If F-IA (Complex-Partial) it's usually mistaken by the others as something else. Personally the Complex-Partially is harder to deal with bc the effects & duration are often unknowns. I get aggravated bc it reminds me how little control I have of my life, as the only control is that which God gives me.
No matter the circumstance I must get it together and move on.

I’ve had quite a few in public. Ppl who know me know that I don’t want to go to the hospital, so they will usually just take me home. But if I had them at work or in front of someone who didn’t know me, I always came to in the hospital. The only part that bothers me is all the drooling and crying. Otherwise I don’t care what anyone else thinks about it.

I do not go out shopping just to Doctors Appointments, but when I shopped with someone else the Cashiers would be alarmed and feel they needed to call 911. I was with someone who knew what was happening, so she calmed them down. It is Partial Awareness but normally I know what happened or is happening..

Quite a few over the years. Don't recall ever having a grand mal in public, just simple and complex absent seizures.
