I want kids in the future and had been thinking about it since my teen years but the one thing that’s gonna hold me back or maybe hold me back is that they could get epilepsy and if they do how do I react

Yes, you can a carry the gene in your DNA however it does not mean every child you could have would be an epileptic. My mother carried it also. I was the only one who developed it. My parents had 4 children.
I have 2sons and neither one has any traits of epilepsy.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Its also possible to get it really young but not at birth and never find out until years later that its highly likely that the cause was genetic and not just a problem at birth. This is basically the point I'm at now. Yes, I know how I got it but there's so far, no evidence that it's passed down.

It isn't limited just to your children either.

What is the most important thing for a person? Time.
Doubts eat up time very quickly.
Think about the baby now. There will be no such opportunity later. Don't listen to those who sow doubt in your mind.
Think about the baby, don't think about what it will be like and everything will be fine.
