My seizures will not stop lately. I had 3 grand mal seizures back to back yesterday and went to the hospital. Im wondering who has gotten the VNS and how it has worked for you. Thanks in advance

I had the VNS put in me back in 2021 and its done wonders for me. Granted its a different experience so always talk to your neurologist for his input. My seizures went from 3 a week to 1 every month or so. I personally would reccomend it but once again talk to the doc first
I got one back in 2013 and have since had it replaced. It has been a godsend, in that I have been labeled drug resistant. I've been learning a lot since joining MyEpilepsyTeam, but am still hoping that I 'hit the lottery' and find someone else who took part in The U.S. E-17 Trial, which referred to the AMM first getting FDA approval in the U.S.
In 2005 , I had the VNS put in. It lasted to 2010 , when it died.
I never replaced the VNS box. My Dr. and I agreed it wasn’t worth it . It wasn’t helping my kind of Epilepsy to reduce my seizures.
In 2022 I had the DBS put in and it did help reduce my seizures.
I have not gotten one.
