Members responded warmly to a question about whether friends and others have ever judged them for having epilepsy, with the overall feeling being one of acceptance and resilience. Several members shared meaningful stories, including a devoted boss who stayed by their side in the ER, old friends who rallied around them after a diagnosis, and the challenge of family members who don't fully understand memory issues. A recurring theme was that true friends accept you as you are, and that living openly with epilepsy, rather than hiding it, tends to bring more understanding and connection.

People don't think less of me as they know the character of the person

I haven't had anyone think less of me because of my epilepsy. Or it might be fair to say, I don't know of anyone who thinks less of me because of my epilepsy. Someone could have chosen not to deal with me because of my epilepsy, but I never knew.
