Are you experiencing small objects falling from your right hand during or after seizures?
Dropping things from one hand could be related to seizure activity affecting that side of your body. Some types of seizures can cause temporary weakness, loss of muscle control, or brief interruptions in your ability to grip objects.
Possible seizure-related causes include:
* Focal seizures affecting the left side of your brain (which controls your right hand)
* Atonic seizures causing sudden loss of muscle tone
* Brief lapses in awareness during focal seizures
* Post-seizure weakness (postictal state) affecting one side of your body
When to seek medical attention:
Contact your neurologist if this is a new symptom or happening more frequently. They may need to:
* Review your current medication levels
* Adjust your treatment plan
* Order an EEG to check for seizure activity
* Rule out other neurological concerns
Track when these episodes happen, what you're doing at the time, and any other symptoms you notice. This information will help your healthcare team determine if seizure activity is causing the issue and how to best address it.
