Unfortunately, most people with LGS do not grow out of their seizures. Around 80 to 90 percent of children with LGS continue to have seizures into adulthood.

Complete recovery from LGS is rare, and there is currently no cure. Most children with LGS will continue to experience seizures as adults, though the frequency and severity can vary from person to person.

While some people with LGS live well into adulthood—even into their 50s and 60s—they typically continue managing seizures throughout their lives. The condition requires ongoing medical care and support.

However, with consistent treatment, seizure control strategies, and proper medical management, many people can achieve better seizure control over time. The key is working closely with healthcare providers to find the most effective treatment plan, which may need adjustments as time goes on.
