I used to make pasta sauce, meatballs and pasta. If you look around the canned tomatoes can be affordable. Pasta is also affordable and the meat. It can last for days. And if you have meatballs left over you can make a sandwich.
Good question - .... I was part of a RIF so have been living off of whatever the Foodshelf has had for going on 9 months now so it's mostly been cards with potatoes and some vegetables here and there, mostly corn on the cob. If I want to treat myself, I order a dominos pizza. A caseworker who has been helping me locate a job gave me $20 in Target giftcards for essential needs. I'm just looking for something other than potatoes and whatever I can get the biggest bang for the buck.
Hi Kris5, how many are in your family? A nice pot of hamburger stew doesn’t cost much and goes a long way especially with cornbread or biscuits. Hamburger and veggies casserole is always good. I like to buy a pork roast when the price is way down and turn it into several meals. $.99 a lbs vs $6.99 a lbs is my kind of deal.
Good? I agree with the ai mentioned and other people's opinions here, I would suggest getting people's opinions here which is ok and I do that on occasion and look up online about that and there are many different types and ones to choose from, but after all said and done it would be your call about which you want to try out and make my opinion here but good luck with your outcome with your search for,
I do find myself currently enjoying "what can you come up with with whatever is currently in your cupboards"
