Does anyone have any kind of alert bracelet? My mom wants me to get one im just wondering how well it would work
I've had a Medic Alert bracelet for 52 years. It has saved my life during seizures and I never take it off.
I will say they do come in handy and I've seen on more than 1 occasion checking ones bracelet does work! I highly recommend you get one.
I have asked then to send me a printout of all my medications as well. This is important because they do not look at the special code on the card. That additionally has my Emergency Contacts. Obviously with Epilepsy I do not drive. They got me an Uber home.
I’ve also had a Medic Alert bracelet for many years, and it has saved my life on a few occasions. Doctors can call Medic Alert and find out your history immediately. Not only did it tell them I have epilepsy, but it told them I am very allergic to Dilantin, which could kill me. So I highly recommend it for anyone with a medical condition.
Emily,
I had one from MedicAlert since I was 16 years old. They keep track of medications, dosages, what condition or conditions you have, They keep medical and legal records also. You have to pay a little more to have them do that. However, the bracelet, dog tag or necklace will say Allergic, your member number. That identifies you. There is a number to call them on the back.
