You have, and if it's from the condition we have or maybe of the side effects of the med (s) we are taking, it could be a natural thing for a person I'm just wondering and curious about the post, I used to do it and didn't know what was the cause of my doing it, but have stopped doing it, and now trim my nails with nail clippers I have on occasion when I feel the need to get it done, but that's my opinion here on the post here I'm posting and wondering what your thoughts are on this is all,?
It's not directly a side effect but it can be associated with anxiety which is linked to epilepsy.
No I don't I think I use to back in the days
No. I don't bite my nails. But mine tend to be soft so they split and break easily
No, I have not had any problems with biting my nails.
Onychophagia doesn’t usually have anything to do with epilepsy. It’s a nervous habit and can cause health issues such as tearing of the intestines, esophagus etc. plus it’s a very dirty habit. Just imagine everything that u’ve touched all day long and ur sticking it in ur mouth. The amount of germs, dirt, skin, sweat etc is now in ur mouth getting chewed up and put into ur stomach. All the jagged edges are what can cause the rips and tears on its way to ur stomach and when it gets expelled. I don’t think I’ll ever forget how bad, germ ridden, disgusting gunk that ur putting in ur body and what it can cause health wise. If only u knew what ur eating when u chew ur nails off- I’d almost guarantee that u would stop that disgusting habit immediately. I didn’t say anything about this when I first responded to the question, but it has been bothering me since I know what it could do to u.
