From what I read about this. Dreaming as a whole is normal. If you get really scary dreams about self harm and it keeps happening that's a problem. But what is a even bigger problem is if you don't dream at all because this can mean other issues are going on.

Dreaming is away of the brain to recover during sleep.

I sometimes get real weird dreams about the end times. I think that's what they're about.

I use to have the same dream for years, searched and found the reason why. Now have been having some crazy dreams, which is fine. Doesn't bother me, amuses me more.

Question: How do epilepsy medications affect dreams and are unusual dreams related to the condition?

Dreams can be affected by both epilepsy medications and the condition itself. Anti-seizure medications can influence brain activity during sleep, which may result in vivid, strange, or fragmented dreams. It's completely normal to experience unusual dreams while taking epilepsy medications. Your approach of briefly reflecting on dreams without dwelling on them is healthy. While some dreams may seem confusing or fragmented, this is common and not necessarily cause for concern. If you're worried about your dreams or sleep patterns, it's worth mentioning to your neurologist during your next appointment, especially if they're disrupting your rest.
