I use to get 1-3 seizures almost every day. In 2000 i had surgery. i get 11-15 seizures a year. they changed from petite and grand mal to partial and absent seizures. Theyre smaller, less often, and i get auras now. Buy an epileptic helmet and a medic alert from Amazon. Wear them whenever youre out alone. I do. Good luck
I had surgery in 2019 and 2022. They did not fully get rid of ky seizures, but theres huge improvements in frequency and how bad they were. I used to have a seizure every 5 mins it seemed now its just randomly if any. And they dont last as long either.
Thank you again for your reply. He has been given similar statistics by his doctors. Maybe not quite as high. The surgeon at RWJ in New Brunswick was very positive. However, the neurologist at UPENN in Philadelphia was not as high on the percentages. He is scheduled to have some kind of special MRI next month and then he will be meeting with his doctor at UPENN.
Thank you for your reply. I have been praying for him every day. His neurologist thinks that he is a good candidate for surgery. He has drug resistant epilepsy. He is currently on 3 medications. I think that he takes two daily, and one as needed. He is doing well since starting XCorpri. Consequently, he is very uncertain about the surgery. Thank you again.
I had surgery done for epilepsy in April 1987, when I was 32. I have been seizure-free since the surgery and have been totally off medicine since December 1992.
