They did it when I was in AUS (1996-2001) also, but it didn't stop me from getting my Ph.D. there.

YES, I definitely feel like I am judged. But that doesn't mean you can get things done! You don't have to work directly with -- and have seizures in front of -- other people.

People in NZ with epilepsy are being badly "tainted" from the vast number of individuals now causing "social havoc" in many towns / cities due to other health issues - rising drug addiction issues i.e. Meth and "P" use. For too long, a majority of necessary public education/support services for those suffering with epilepsy have been provided by volunteers. NZ's Government / Taxpayer funded provided health services have been disgraceful. I am judged by some people, I ignore them as this country falls to bits around them.

yes... I felt it from friend's, family members and even my kids. It breaks my heart to think about how scared they get when I do have a siezures. there is a distance between my daughter and myself. sometimes I hate myself because I loose the people I love. nothing is the same after I have a seizure. I loose everyone's trust that I am o.k.. then the questions start rolling in. when I answere them I feel like I got ripped off out of a good life. my friends tell me that there worst memories was watching me have seizures and running straight into trees. those memories stick with people.
so to answere the question..we have to accept it because it will never stop. try to make jokes about it the best you can. getting people to laugh about it is the only real option you have. I feel your pain and I won't sugar coat it because your sentimants have stayed with me my whole life. 53 years of the same feeling. it realy sucks. I am sorry you are going through it..
