I would agree, it could be either. In my care, however it was an Aura.

Deja Vu is an aura. When I have auras doctors do find seizure activity on my RNS. So auras are minor seizures.

I get Deja Vu on occasion but it luckily hasn't lead to a seizure.

Déjà vu can actually be both - it's a type of aura, which is considered a focal aware seizure, but it can also serve as a warning sign that a larger seizure may follow. An aura is technically the beginning of a seizure itself, even though many people think of it as just a warning.

Many MyEpilepsyTeam members report experiencing déjà vu along with other aura symptoms like:
- Fear or anxiety
- Strange smells or tastes
- Nausea
- Dizziness
- Visual disturbances
- Out-of-body sensations If you experience déjà vu regularly, it's important to recognize it as a potential seizure symptom. Some people have enough time during an aura to get to a safe place or alert others before a larger seizure occurs, while others may experience the déjà vu without any subsequent seizure activity.
