I think ppl should be able to talk and share their disabilities and how it is for them on a daily. More then just epilepsy.. 🙂

Epilepsy is hard to deal with and I did for 40 years. I had to survive an almost fatal situation before I looked hard at what I needed to do. After that, it was timing. I'm sitting at home nursing my broken toe from the car accident I just had. As we're watching TV, my mother-in-law calls and asks if I'm watching the lady having brain surgery. I turned it to that channel and watched everything. I knew I wanted it, I needed it and I asked for it. After I found everything was coming from my left temporal lobe, I then had surgery and have been seizure-free for almost 25 years.

Now I just wanna show people how long we can be looking through the dark side and one day we can end up on the bright side.

I provide the information available & link to the www.epilepsy.com & I provide information about the Epilepsy Foundation & look for their local Epilepsy Foundation’s website link & info about their Facebook page as well as another helpful Facebook page called “Epilepsy Education and Support” & let them know that page posts helpful info about the different kinds of Epilepsy & seizures & their different types of symptoms, etc. I remind them that if they ever experience anything from a seizure or medication that they’re not comfortable with, not to hesitate to contact their doctor or nurse. Plus, to be aware of the side effects of the medications they take. This information I usually share with each new member, whether they’re newly diagnosed or not. Plus, words of support & prayers are something I always provide. I joined in 2015 & have enjoyed it ever since & have connected with some great people on here. Your friend in Texas, Becky
