@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member I do agree that Medic Alert is pricey. I have always been able to engrave the bracelet with whatever I needed, and mine had to be changed often. I didn't have to have any notes from my doctor to get a bracelet.. I was not charged for engraving. You do have to pay a fee, but I get mine for 3 years, and there is a discount when you pay for 3 years. I would give them a call because I know I donate for free Medic Alert bracelets or necklaces every year. Do the Amazon medical bracelets come with a live person on the other end to help medical personnel or the ability to call and change the information as your medications change?
go 2 amazon. theyre cheap and you can put whatever you want on it. Sorry 2 say but the Medic Alert foundation charges 2 much wont let you put what you want on it and charge monthly fees. Oh and you need your doctor 2 fill out a form. With amazon no monthly fees, no form 4 your doctor 2 fill out and you can write anything you want. you only pay for the bracelet, necklace etc.
I found some pretty cheap ones on Etsy. You can customize any way you want to.
I got one pretty cheap on amazon and was able to customize it with my emergency contact’s number.
Yes, there are ways to get free or reduced-cost epilepsy medical bracelets. Your doctor can help by writing a prescription for a medical alert bracelet, which may then be covered by your health insurance plan. Some nonprofit organizations also offer assistance programs for medical ID jewelry.
