With them? And I am wondering who gets the rest of your body after they have any thing associated with that to send to whoever they do, I have looked online a little bit about it and am going to do it, but the steps taken when they have your body for science and such etc, what are your thoughts on this post and have you thought about doing it maybe also, curious,
I would like to donate my brain. Maybe it could be some help for others .
My body goes back into the ground as God would have wanted it or cremated
I think the answer may vary. I have always planned on being an organ donor but I don't know if I have any parts that would be appropriate for donation. Years ago, I received paperwork for cadaver donation. If I donated my organs, I would not be able to donate my body for research. One thing I have learned is that both organ donation or cadaver donation are very important and the guidelines differ among states and research/university hospitals. My vascular surgeon's office is to send me information about cadaver donation. Would you be interested in me sharing? This information will be from PA.
I have donated my body to UCSF willed body program.. Depending on what's being studied, at any given time, they take those parts. It could take a decade or more. Then what ever little is left, will be mass cremated. Once they pick your body no one in the family will ever know . But there is no cost . Sheryl
Sometimes when people donate their body to science this is a thing that just happened not too long ago where bodies were at a college and the manager and a couple of the other people was organ harvesting and saling the organs. That's a FAT NO FOR ME
