I've got done speaking with my wife, and she said she was going to order breakfast and then I thought about this post I'm posting, I have reflected when I was in the hospital and the food was okay for hospital food my opinion better than a IV , but I understood that, it's not exactly like fast food, and it's definitely not homemade food, but I didn't seem to mind eating considering what for, and under a doctor and personel helping get better, but what are your thoughts about the post , nothing… read more
Well I know when I was in the hospital here when I had a seizure at my grandson's football game the hospital I was out there food was great
Its not impressive. But if you're in the hospital you have to deal with it. Im just glad I don't have to eat it all the time.
Not being in for sometime, except when went to the Epilepsy meetings. I think it was better than it was in the past.
I lost about 60 lbs when I was in there 30 days!
I have a biased opinion on hospital food, personally I don't think it's good at all, for the most part; but, you also have to think from the perspective of the hospital itself: Nutrition or flavoring?
I didn't start thinking this way until my last, most recent visit to the hospital due to a series of Grand Mal seizures at home, causing me to vomit and be in a daze on the entire ride to the ER; and then being admitted to the ECU for 4 days due to more seizures in the ER.
During this visit I tried to eat the food, and told my nurse I couldn't Because it had no flavor; I'll never forget her words: "would you rather it have flavor, or nutrients so we can see you get better?" I started eating the food after that, whether I wanted to or not; she was right. Thank you Nurse Tylle, and staff @ Methodist Hospital Northeast.
