I tried Depakote and it affected my ammonia levels and had to stop the medication. Went back to phenobarbital. I also tried keppra which made me cry for 2 days straight. Needless to say stopped that one. Added lamotrigine to the phenobarbital several years ago. I have no auras so I don't believe that I would be able to think away my seizures.

Your doctor should know that and be able to help you with something different

That would be a question for your doctor. We are all different. What works for one person may not work for another person.

Everyone's different Jake, in one way or another. For me, Tegertol was not working, so I started Phenytoin. Granted, this was the seventies, and there have been many new anti-convulsant drugs put on the market since then. Going on fifty years now, I seem to have the best results with Dilantin.
