I’ve been on AED medications since the age of 2 . The meds Never controlled my seizures 100%. . In 2022 if found out that I had what’s called Refractory Epilepsy.

Sounds like you’re experiencing the same thing, Anthony.

Sad to say yes, I would divorce the Pharmamafia instantly, if I could get an alternative method of treatment. Though I wouldn't do any surgeries, it would take away from who I am.

Sometimes there isn't right medicine. I've been all the seizure meds except 4, and none of them helped or stopped helping. I'm on 2 meds and that still don't help.

Ultimately, it comes down to finding the medication that works FOR YOU. No single medication affects everyone the same way or controls their epilepsy the same way. First I was on Keppra, and that one went pretty badly FOR ME (and my brother's neck, lol) but it does work for other people. Then I was on Depakote, which worked for a while, and the side affects hit me pretty hard, but it works for other people. Now I'm on Vimpat, and it has worked phenomenally for years, but it may not work for others. There's a degree of trial and error here because we're all different, our bodies are different, our diets are different, and a ton of other factors that vary from one person to the next.

In Australia the pharmaceutical drugs are covered by a thing called PBS unless it's a new drug and it's not in the system. So basically, I am but via the PBS.
