Have you read about the Responsive Neurostimulation (RNS)? There are several members of this site that have had it. You may want to talk to them about it.

My Epilepsy is drug resistant. I've had five surgeries, possibly six soon and iPad my Epilepsy for 21 years when I was first diagnosed at six years old I would have the same amount daily the neurologist who diagnosed me said I wouldn't even graduate high school. I'm a few years from having my bachelor degree, you,your son & family never give up!

I’ll just tell you this for the future. I used to have a VNS but now have an RNS. The RNS is better.
