I recently had an incident and I have spoken with my neurologist - they stated to speak with my PCP. I don’t have one, nor any insurance. There is a big possibility that what happened to me is serious, but I don’t have any money and I don’t want to risk my parents going into bankruptcy because of me depending upon severity. Are there any places I could go besides urgent care or the ER?

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , What type of services are you needing? Are you needing help now or can you wait till Wednesday during most business hours? I shared with you before about the information for The Packard Law Firm to help you get disability. There is clinic here in Texas & has different locations called Lone Star Circle of Care & I went to the location in Georgetown, Texas that offers numerous services like a Family doctor, a Behavioral Health Clinic that offers things like counseling & a Psychiatrist & their assistant, a dentist & a vision place. I tried looking to see if a location might be near you but I don’t know that there is. I have used all of those services they offer except the vision. They help people with low income or no insurance. Their website is: www.lonestarcares.org . They don’t list a San Antonio location but maybe there’ll something similar in or near San Antonio. I know back when I didn’t have insurance, the lady from the Epilepsy Foundation told me about that clinic. They have you fill out some paperwork & then I guess discuss how they can help you &! I think they put me on a sliding scale thing & I paid like $20 to see the Family doctor. So you could go to www.Google.com & type in different things like, er help in San Antonio without insurance or something like that. You know what you’re needing help with & how soon & so it could give you some ideas of where to look. Or you could contact one of the Lone Star Circle of Cares during business hours & ask if they know of a similar clinic around San Antonio. But you might also just have to let your parents know what’s going on so they can help you. They can’t help you if you don’t take that first step & tell them what’s going & then they’ll decide what the best way is to handle things. That’s what they’re there for. They’re there to help you & they would rather do that than you not letting them know what’s going on. I doubt you could get ER services free but maybe at a discount, it would just have to take some looking into & so letting your parents know up front of what’s going on is best & then they can decide how to handle things. Your friend in Austin, Texas, Becky
