I updated "my story" for this app yesterday. And it mentions that I am currently working towards getting an associates degree in science (specifically surgical technology). But my long-term goal is to work towards getting a doctorate degree in neurosurgery . Having epilepsy is what has inspired me to pursue this goal. So I am curious to know if there are others that are on a similar journey.
There was a time I wanted to go to school to become a Pharmacy tech( eventually a pharmacist). I didn't because I didn't want to risk that while dispensing someone else's medicines( for seizures or otherwise) I have a seizure & possibly overdosing someone( by having started before the seizure counting how much of a medicine was needed. After seizure was over giving out too much medicine because forgot how much medicine( whether 30, 60, or 90 day supply I had before the seizure so started over without checking how much I had put on tray to count out for the medicine(s) was filling at the time.
That's something that I would have to discuss with my neurologist and whichever medical school that I will be accepted into.
I hope it works out for you.
Is your epilepsy that under control to do surgery.
