Mostly as a ramification to seizures, but not out of that. I always find it’s a fine line of what to consider mental illness as it is human and normal to go through something like depression when you have a seizure it’s almost like saying don’t cry if you suffered an injury. You will cry because you are either in pain or have loss of a certain ability at that point in time.

Yearning and melancholy for life before epilepsy.

yes and no... i have anxity, depression, mood swings, and stress. idk if these mental disorders fall under side effects of the meds or seizure recovery or something else on top of the nuerolagal condishion epilepsy.

Yes Erika I would have to say mostly I feel an increased depression. I had a bit of that from the start. It has also led to some irritability at times with the mood changes. For me when things got busy around me it felt like things were closing and people had told me they noticed a change in my mood. people that have been around me quite awhile. i also had the tendency to cry a lot more with emotional movies. Ok that last one' lets not let get out right
