Hi @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , I hope you’re doing well. When I happen to be reaching out to a new team member & find that they have yet to Share Their Story, then in that message that I’m leaving them, I tell them that when they get a chance & feel comfortable they might go to their Story page & tell us more about themselves & their seizures & what they enjoy doing & that way it might help them connect more with others. Your friend in Texas, Becky
Wanting someone to open up and describe their journey is the bottom line of participating here. I held back on my story at first too. It's a risk! Fear is a potent motivator. I encourage everyone who chooses me for their team, but hasn't yet described their life with epilepsy, to tell their story.
We all need time to feel comfortable and safe. Patience is required.
Some people are very sensitive an keep things to themselves if I put everything that happened to me in my life I could write an Encyclopedia
I didn't say squat at first. Then the basics and when I got a little bit more comfortable I added some more. I'm sure that more will follow as time goes by 💜.
I went two ways. At first, I wasn't sure what to say and didn't say anything. Later when I was more comfortable, I spilled my guts out.
