I once had a Vagus Nerve Stimulator (VNS). It would turn on every 4 or 5 minutes and was supposed to keep seizures from occurring. When I had a seizure someone would touch it with a magnet and that was supposed to wake me back up. I hated how when it turned on it vibrated like crazy. It would make me cough and mess up my speech. We never saw any improvements in my seizures so I chose to have another surgery and get it removed. It’s probably worked better for others though.
In 2005ci had the VNS. It was upsetting for me. My seizures never changed.. by 2010 the power box started to die. My Dr. Agreed with me ,that it wasn’t worth replacing the device..
Now keep in mind , just because it didn’t work well for me , doesn’t mean it won’t work for you.
A simple procedure for implant of wires to the vagus nerve leading to brain to interrupt the seizure with magnet. Had one bout 6 years ago, no luck so easily removed. Computer guided minor surgery, has helped others so if Dr. recommends try it for self to see results. Listen only to Dr bout details for best info to ease mind best.
