My doc's put me on Alprazolam & Trazadone as needed, a couple years ago when I couldn't get to sleep. Now I'm trying to get off of them, I hate taking medication.

If you you’re currently taking medication on a regular basis, you should be tested for Sleep Apnea. There’s various ways to treat it and it doesn’t include medication

No, I use the regular Zolpidem and not the ER. I think the regular is a waste of time occasionally because I wake up about 2 hours later. I may ask my doctor about the ER. Sorry not more help.
