I feel like it does. Unless stresses of life get worse.
Amber, you should see your GP or neurologist and see what your levels are if you have concern. I dickered with neuroligist when he wanted to lower my depakote. He was concerned about brain damage and was concerned about living with my disease. I had been on the same dosage for 17 years. My levels are in the therapeutic range so I am good. See your Dr's and follow trough the way I have done . ericthom3
My meds has been going well seizure free since 11/11/21 ~ 2 years! Memory is not good along with spelling but being epileptic is part of it unfortunately. This site is so awesome. You all I am grateful.

Immunity is an incorrect term here but as @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member said, people can develop a "tolerance" for a medication (much like addicts need to take more and more of a substance to get high).
I'm thinking it would be very risky to take a lower or higher dose on you own.
Your neurologist is the person to ask and follow.
