I do take my meds and go by my docs advice and such, which is good, but I also add my own things as well, I have a sport and like to bass fish, I have not done that in about 2 and 3/4 yrs, I may next year, I have a daily routine of prayer and bible study which I put 1 st in my life with, I do other things as well like normal and get my taken care of by doing that each day, my answer here, I think it's different per person but that is my way.

I was thinking some more about your question. You might look for a neurologist that is a Do and not an Md. more training actually. My neurologist is a do and would have been a great 70’s hippie too. He treats the whole body and not just symptoms. It’s been a great approach and he’s more open to listening and solutions.

Exercise, mindfulness, eliminating alcohol:( all help w meds. But eliminating meds put you and others at risk He’s honest about the limitations of drugs and in the end “it’s the f’n brain who completely knows” he says

Google Do vs. Md to learn more

Stick with your meds and your Dr. unless you are free for 3 months let's say , but stay with your doctor's supervision always. ericthom3

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Isn't the only difference between a MD and a OD a MD is more qualified medically and a OD is medically qualified but focuses on more natural treatments ? I did'nt know this before I started seeing my new GP but, the GP I see now currenly also runs his own medical cannabis business. As far as I know because of where things are at, I think they do more research-based based things than priscribing.

I can't answer that one for you Maxwell as I can't see a solution with either at the moment, as you know I'm also pretty new to this only since march 2022 and I've just seen my neurologist who's given me more medication to see if it helps.
I'm afraid everything is all trial and error with anything you decide to do.
Exercise, walking and listening and singing to music helps relieve stress with me but that might not work for you. I also enjoy dancing but I'm not sure that actually helps lol, meditation is a good one too. I haven't done any exercises or dancing since my seizures started getting worse though.
You have to find what works for you but please talk to a specialist first before you decide to not take medication.
I'm sticking with my medication.
Let me know how you get on with whatever decision you make.🫂💜xxxx
