Light Sensitivity .
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Diagnosed epilepsy 2017 after two seizures two years apart. Lamotrgine has kept seizures away. Have always been a bit light sensitive but Increasingly in recent months… If I’ve seen a very bright flash of light or spend more than an hour on PC, within 24hr i get a fuzzy headache in one area of head, right centre.. lasts for four or five days and then clears… it’s a fairly recent development for it to be happening so frequently and am a bit concerned. Any advice please?

I like natural light more, but light that is not natural such as lights at home and stores etc I'm ok with, but prefer natural light my opinion

Yeah, I've always had issues with heat but never been officially diagnosed with light sensitivity. The strange thing now is that I have a known Occipital lobe issue but don't get sensitivity to flashing lights.

I am very sensitive to light, especially around a pool. Took a while for me to figure out that it was the reflection. Before my diagnosis, it happened all the time, going into grocery stores, church, etc. Loud noises too! I really thought I was losing my mind. This went on for a few years, before I knew................Funny, my OBGYN sent me to a psychologist. Neither of us knew.

Yep, I've always been diagnosed with TLE they were testing me for reported body and limb twitching and not much came from that, but found activity in the occipital lobe. I did end up looking in to it and do get some flashes and random blurred vision. You will probably need more testing to see if you have any issues.

Do you mean optical lobe area… just wondered because when I have the fuzzy head and headache following a bright flash I sense my eye on that side seems somehow different though my sight seems ok,
My last EEG and MRI were in 2017.
