Anyone With Complex Partial Heard Of Gabitril?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I just recently heard of it. Im kinda between neurologists so id have to bring it up at the follow up if im interested. Im currently on 450mg trokendi, 250mg vimpat, 200mg Xcopri for epilepsy, and other things not related to my epilepsy.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member epidiolex is only approved for lennox gastaut syndrome, dravet syndrome, and tuberous sclerosis complex i believe, idk if they can prescribe it for other forms of epilepsy but i know that they dont really. My state legalized medical use, and my friends mom has it so ive been experimenting with smoking the past 3 weeks. I mean everyday when i say that, i only tried it like once before 🤣 but i still had a few here and there, just auras, maybe 4 at most and i think split between 2 days so not 4 in a whole day. The past 3 days, dec 1-3, i smoked morning and night, instead of just night which i did before. I havent had any auras or absents( i was like 5 years free, and theyre still rare, so i forget to mention those a lot lol) but i normally have 1-4 auras a day, 4-6 is on the higher side so im reeally keeping my hopes up, i only know people with tonic clonic, not petite mal so i dont have anyone else to compare to 🤣

I have complex partials as well as tonic clonic seizure clusters. Never heard of Gabitril before. Trying to get my neurologist to prescribe some Epidiolex, the pharmacy grade CBD extract but it takes so long to initiate new moves within your doctor group, and they always want to give you the latest pill. The Epidiolex which has been known to work amongst all age groups, especially on children whom were the first ones the drug was authorized to use exactly for seizures, by the FDA. So you'd think it would be plenty safe. Very frustrating at times.

Tried it ! Worked w/ my group of meds at the time but New Epileptologist has me off everything and only on high dose of Xcopri! That’s what happened to me. He put my VNS on again! I wish you luck!
