Numb On One Side Of Body During Seizure

A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

When having a seizure, has anyone else felt numbness on one side of their body? For the past year, during my absent seizures, my right arm gets numb. The other day, my left leg also got numb. Just wondering if this is common

I did some research and the numbness you describe is part of a focal aware seizure and is common. These are seizures that stem from the parietal lobe of brain. I suggest you Google "focal aware seizure symptoms" and talk with your neurologist about this too!

That happened to me yesterday for the first time after my tonic clonic. It was all of my limbs though, I think
